Conference on Central Asian cultural heritage and International Novruz holiday held in Seoul

On March 18, 2026, a conference dedicated to the cultural heritage of Central Asian countries and the International Novruz holiday was held at the Secretariat of the Central Asia - the Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum. The event brought together Ambassadors of Central Asian countries in the Republic of Korea, representatives of the Secretariat, tourism companies, professors, university representatives, media, and cultural organizations, creating a meaningful platform for dialogue and cultural exchange.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan, H.E. Mr. Begench Durdyyev, emphasized the significance of the Novruz holiday in Turkmenistan, where it is celebrated on a large scale in accordance with national traditions, including festive gatherings in the “Novruz Valley.” He also highlighted an important milestone, noting that this year marks the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, and introduced the motto of 2026 - “Independent, Permanent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses”, along with the planned events throughout the year.

In addition, guests had the opportunity to explore an exhibition featuring books by the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, as well as cultural items reflecting the country’s cultural heritage and values. At the conclusion of the event, participants tasted traditional Turkmen snacks, leaving with a warm impression of hospitality and the spirit of friendship.
