THE 7TH PRC - CENTRAL ASIA COOPERATION FORUM WAS HELD IN CHINA

On October 18-19, 2019, the VII China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum was held in Nanning, the economic, administrative and cultural center of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the PRC, in which representatives of Turkmenistan also participated.

The event was organized by the SCO China Committee for Good Neighborhood, Friendship and Cooperation, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the People’s Government of this region. The meeting brought together heads of government agencies and the private sector, delegates from international organizations and public associations, journalists from Turkmenistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

During the forum, the heads of national delegations met with representatives of the PRC leading various sectors, including the financial and economic sphere, the transport sector, construction and industry. Forum participants outlined interaction vectors within international organizations and in a bilateral format in such areas as trade and economic relations, transport and logistics, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.

In the exhibition hall of the China-ASEAN EXPO, a review of the products of the participating countries was held, at which Turkmenistan was presented with famous carpets, national jewelry and other samples of decorative and applied art, as well as printing publications. Particular emphasis was placed on the addition of efforts to revive the Great Silk Road in a modern format.
