Official reception on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Independence and 300th anniversary of birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi
On October 30, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea hosted an official reception at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul to commemorate the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the 300th anniversary of birth of the renowned Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi.
The reception was attended by distinguished representatives from the Government of the Republic of Korea, the National Assembly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various other ministries and state agencies, public organizations, heads of foreign diplomatic mission accredited in Seoul, Turkmen students studying in Korean institutions, and members of the media. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Tae-Jin participated as a guest of honor on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Korea.
In his address, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea, B.Durdyyev, highlighted the historic reforms undertaken in Turkmenistan since gaining Independence, along with the nation's impressive advancements across political, social, economic, humanitarian, and other key sectors. He emphasized that these accomplishments reflect Turkmenistan's high international standing and effective domestic and foreign policy under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Ambassador also underscored the enduring relevance of Magtymguly Fragi's literary legacy, noting that his works remain a treasured part of world literature.
Speaking on behalf of the Korean government, Deputy Minister Kim Tae-Jin recognized the strong and growing Turkmen-Korean relations, underscoring the shared principles of mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation that are elevating ties between the two nations through the efforts of their leaders. He affirmed the promising potential for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and Korea.
As part of the event, an exhibition of the Turkmen paintings was organized, celebrating the life and works of the turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi. Guests were also served a selection of traditional Turkmen dishes.
