A CONFERENCE ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DECLARATION ON STRATEGIC ECONOMIC COOPERATION OF THE CIS MEMBER STATES WAS HELD IN MOSCOW

On November 26, 2019, a scientific-practical conference "The Role and Significance of the Declaration on Strategic Economic Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Strengthening Economic Integration in the Eurasian Space" was held in Moscow, in the building of the CIS Executive Committee branch, As is known, the Declaration, initiated by the President of Turkmenistan G.M. Berdimuhamedov, was unanimously adopted at the summit of the Council of the Heads of State of the CIS in Ashgabat on October 11, 2019.

The event, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation and the CIS Executive Committee, was attended by the heads and representatives of the structural divisions of the EC CIS, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the heads and employees of the embassies of the CIS countries accredited in Moscow, as well as representatives of the scientific, financial and economic circles of Russia.

As speakers at the conference noted, the document is aimed primarily at increasing the efficiency of using the socio-economic potential of the CIS countries to activate integration processes within the Commonwealth. This will ensure the successful development and stable economic growth of each CIS member state, as well as effectively use the economic potential for the benefit of the peoples of these countries.

It was emphasized that today the largest transport and energy projects are being implemented in the CIS space, modern infrastructure, communications, international transport corridors, and logistics centers of interregional and global scale are being created. Due to this, the economic potential of the Commonwealth of Independent States is significantly increased.
