On the Meeting with the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

On July 4, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Nigeria.

In this context, with the aim of enhancing bilateral relations, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan handed over a diplomatic note to the Nigerian side proposing the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, along with a draft of the corresponding bilateral document.
