The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with the President of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly
On August 4, 2025, on the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the President of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly Philemon Young.
During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of interaction between Turkmenistan and the UN, emphasizing the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation to ensure peace, security and sustainable development.
Philemon Young emphasized Turkmenistan's commitment to the UN Charter and international legal norms.
The parties noted with satisfaction the special significance of the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the Third Resolution "Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan", which became a clear confirmation of broad international support for Turkmenistan's peace-loving foreign policy strategy.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted that positive neutrality does not separate, but rather promotes the development of interaction and opens up new horizons for cooperation in various fields.
It was stated that for five days the Avaza National Tourist Zone will become a platform for discussion and constructive cooperation.
