Meeting of Heads of the MFA of Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Lesotho

On August 7, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Kingdom of Lesotho Lejone Mpotjoane in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The importance of the participation of the Lesotho Foreign Minister in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Countries (LLDC3) was emphasized.

During the meeting, the diplomats discussed the possibilities of intensifying cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Lesotho. In this context, the two countries expressed interest in establishing diplomatic relations in the near future.

The parties noted the importance of using a systemic dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries. An exchange of views took place regarding the establishment of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, including agriculture and hydropower.

The diplomats emphasized the effectiveness of cooperation within international organizations, in particular the UN, and expressed their intention to continue the practice of mutual support in the name of peace and sustainable development.
