Regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on Caspian Sea issues was held

On 18 July 2026, the 65th meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on Caspian Sea issues was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, a report was presented on the results of the work carried out in January–June of the current year in accordance with the 2026 Action Plan of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on Caspian Sea issues.

The participants also discussed draft documents related to the Caspian Environmental Summit, which is scheduled to be held in October 2026 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The speakers highlighted the productive nature of Turkmenistan's cooperation with reputable international organizations on Caspian Sea issues. It was emphasized that, by acceding to a number of United Nations international environmental conventions, Turkmenistan consistently fulfils its international commitments in the fields of sustainable development and environmental protection while further strengthening effective cooperation with the international community in these areas.

The meeting also addressed preparations and organizational matters related to events dedicated to the Caspian Sea Day.

Particular attention was paid to issues concerning the further development of the Commission's activities on a scientific basis, as well as the expansion of cooperation with international organizations in this field.
